Thumbnail Image

A thumbnail is a small image that represents a larger image (when clicked on).

First, use CSS to create a modal window (dialog box), and hide it by default. Then, use a JavaScript to show the modal window and to display the image inside the modal, when a user clicks on the image.


Thumbnails are a crucial element in digital marketing, as they are often the user's first interaction with content. They act as a visual representation of longer content, such as a photo, video, or article. The main objective of using them is to provide a quick and engaging preview of the main content, encouraging the user to interact with it. Hence, the importance of using them on web platforms and social media to capture user attention and improve the overall experience.


"Tab preview" or "hover cards" that is enabled by default in many modern browsers, such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Firefox, to show a thumbnail or summary of the webpage before you click on it. Hovering the cursor over the button below displays a "tab preview" to see the effect
